Tareq is an intelligent and kind boy. His family had just moved to a new neighbourhood and he was thrilled to start classes at his new school and make new friends. Only, Tareq had a stutter, which became emphasised when he was anxious, tired or nervous. His first day of school had him saddled with all kinds of emotions, and he quickly learned that sometimes, people aren’t kind.
This narrative emphasises the damaging effects of bullying and mockery, whilst also stressing the significance of accepting people for who they are.
